017: Cynthia Daignault

hosts Jarrett Earnest and Leigha Mason speak with painter Cynthia Daignault about her work both in painting and writing, her deep childhood relationship to Twin Peaks, love of grunge, melodramatic film, and more.

Her work is included in two museum surveys proposing new frameworks for thinking about recent painting history - "The Living End" at MCA Chicago and "Ordinary People" at MOCA. Additionally, Jarrett wrote about one of Cindy's pieces in the "Painting and Photography" issue of Aperture (an essay called "Here's Looking at You Kid" about a spate of recent painting shows that deal with film stills and the internet).
